In 2020, we approached Southern Homes (SHI) and others regarding major renovations to our circa 60 yo home. SHI were one of the few who responded and from the start were very helpful. Their sales representative was very knowledgeable and within a short time frame, worked on and improved our tentative design which included conversion of a rumpus room into a master bedroom and ensuite, removal of a short passage way to allow a larger main bathroom and creation of a larger kitchen dining room area including a European laundry. After order placement, work proceeded in a timely manner under the direction of the building supervisor. We were delighted with the final result transforming the old, inefficient layout. I always hear horror stories about building experiences from friends and colleagues. Items such as builds not running on time or to budget and just poor workmanship. Fortunately for us we decided to go with Southern Home Improvements. From the very beginning we felt at ease with their sales staff and design team. We felt confident that we had made the right choice. The team had some great ideas on how we could go about the building process while still living in the house, which was quite a challenge as the main supporting internal wall had to be removed. From the start of the build, all the trades came in one after the other, materials arrived on time, resulting in no delays in the whole building process. All the trades were very respectful of our home and exceeded my expectation in the quality of the workmanship they provided. Everything was done on time and to budget.
